Lincoln Airport

Lincoln Airport S69

If you are an aviation enthusiast, Lincoln has its own state owned airport, Lincoln Airport (S69), one mile east of Lincoln. The airport was completely reconstructed in 2006.

Detailed information can be found at www.airnav.com/airport/S69 .

Tie-downs are available in the aircraft parking apron with a rest room adjacent. A shelter with four bicycles and safety helmets for riding into town is also located adjacent to the aircraft tie-down apron. There is cell phone coverage at the airport.

There is a pilot campground at the west end of the runway on the Blackfoot River which includes a dedicated tie-down area, an outhouse, six campsites with tables, fire rings and fire wood. Campers can also shorten their walk to town by using the walkthrough gate into the Lincoln Ranger District Compound on the north side of the runway. When you do this, please stop in the Ranger District Office and introduce yourself and check-out the stuffed 800 pound grizzly bear.

Lincoln Airport is a great jumping off point for backcountry flying into Schafer (8U2) inside the Great Gear Wilderness and into Spotted Bear (8U4), Meadow Creek (0S1), and Benchmark (3U7)) which are just outside the boundaries of the Bob Marshall, Great Bear, and Scapegoat Wilderness Area Complex. Lincoln Airport is also centrally located to other recreational airports in western Montana including Seeley Lake (23S), Ferndale (53U), Kalispell City (S27), Helena (HLN) (best fuel price at Beck’s U-Pump), etc..
